ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Brent Schroeder, BSEE ’88, was born and raised in Defiance, Ohio. After graduating from Defiance High School, Schroeder attended Ohio Northern University, where he graduated in with a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering. While at Ohio Northern, Schroeder was a member of the men’s varsity basketball and golf teams.
Upon graduation, Schroeder joined Therm-O-Disc, a subsidiary of Emerson Electric in Mansfield, Ohio, as a sales engineer. He subsequently held a series of increasingly responsible roles in sales, marketing, internal operations and general management. Schroeder was promoted to president of Emerson’s Fusite Division in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 2003, holding that role until 2006. Schroeder then returned to Therm-O-Disc as president, serving until he joined Emerson’s Air Conditioning business as president in 2008.
In 2016, Schroeder was promoted to group president, heating and air conditioning, of Emerson’s Commercial and Residential Solutions business. In this role, Schroeder is responsible for Emerson’s businesses serving the HVAC industries, with revenue in excess of $2 billion and solutions ranging from Copeland compressors, White-Rogers valves and controls, and Sensi thermostats and monitoring solutions.
